Unacceptable Risks

Include but not limited to: Prior Loss History: has more than 4 losses in the past 5 years or more than 3 losses in the past 3 years, has more than 1 fire loss, more than 1 water loss, 1 liability or 1 theft loss in the past 5 years. Vacant & Unoccupied Dwellings: Dwellings that have been vacant for more than 60 days or dwellings that is unoccupied. Roofing: Roof age is greater than 25 years and the roof type is not slate, tile, hail resistant or metal. Single family dwelling that are occupied by more than 1 family or 2 roomers or boarders. Mobile homes, trailer homes, house trailers, manufactured homes, homes built over water, log homes, homes that are cantilevered or built on stilts. Eligibility Overview

The following risks are eligibile for Hippo's DP3 program

  • Minimum & Maximum Coverage Limits:
    • Coverage A Minimum: $80,000*
    • Coverage A Maximum: $1,250,000
  • One, two, three or four family dwellings for DP3 policies
  • Roof must be in acceptable condition
  • Secondary/Seasonal homes

FireLine WildFire Risk Score

ISO Fireline score is used to measure a premises threat from a wildfire loss. The scoring
calculation considers the hazards of fuel, slope, road access, and proximity to potential heat
and wind-borne embers.
The Fireline score is determined at new business and updated on renewal. At risk homes, those with scores 2-30 are currently ineligible for new business. Homes with a score of 2 that meet other eligibility criteria may be referred to Underwriting for consideration.
